about

Full day tour in Montenegro

The tour starts with visiting Njeguši, where you can make a short break at a traditional restaurant. Njeguši is well-known for its dairy and meat products. Famous cheese from Njeguši was sold in Kotor, Dalmatia, Trieste, Venice, Marseille and Malta in the old days. During our stay at this restaurant you will see the family’s smokehouse and get to know about all the processes of making smoked ham and domestic grape brandy called rakija.

One of five national parks in Montenegro is the mountain Lovćen which, spreading from southwestern part of the country to the Adriatic Sea, is famous for the mausoleum on its top, an inescapable tourist attraction where Petar Petrović Njegoš was buried. After a climb of 461 steps you will be rewarded with an amazing panoramic view on the Skadar Lake, Bay of Kotor, old royal capital Cetinje and mountains extending to the east and north of the country.

Cetinje, an old royal capital of Montenegro which is settled in the southern part of the republic, at the bottom of Lovćen mountain with altitude of 670 meters, is also called the Museum Town due to its fascinating architecture and numerous historical buildings, relics, monasteries, churches and museums. An hour-long visit to Cetinje is reserved for sightseeing and learning about Montenegrin history and culture.

The tour continues to the hidden pearl of Montenegro – Rijeka Crnojevića, and Skadar Lake national park. This visit combines multiple activities: one-hour boat ride, relaxing walk in the nature and photographing picturesque and most beautiful sights in Montenegro.

Lunch at the fish restaurant, which offers fresh local fish specialties and best Montenegrin wines made from finest grapes from the region, is also planned.

Skadar Lake with its 369.7 km² (of which 221.8 km² belong to Montenegro and 147.9 km² belong to Albania) is the largest lake in Montenegro, as well as the Balkan Peninsula. It is also well-known for being the only pelican habitat in southern Europe.

Before the tour ends with returning back, one more stop for taking photographs of Sveti Stefan – luxurious hotel resort, which was a fishing island once, is made.
