Rafting on Tara River

Tara River with its total length of 144 km (of which 104 km are in Montenegro) and 1.3 km at the deepest part is the most popular place for rafting in Montenegro. It cuts the Tara River Canyon, which is the second longest canyon in the world after Grand Canyon. As a part of Durmitor National Park, Tara River Canyon is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Rafting route lasts about 2 to 3 hours and starts from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje, where you will experience excitement while going through the rapids, as well as amusement while enjoying in the scenery of surrounding area.

Itinerary:

08:00 Departure from Kotor
11:00 Arrival to the rafting camp in Šćepan Polje and breakfast right by the river
11:00 Preparing for rafting (all the participants will get waterproof clothes and shoes, a life jacket and a helmet)

12:00 - 12:30 - Driving with off-road vehicles to Brštanovica (starting point of rafting)
12:30 - 16:00 - Rafting through the most attractive rapids on Tara River, with pauses at the most beautiful places for taking photos of waterfalls and picturesque scenery, as well as swimming

16:00 Arrival at Šćepan Polje (end point of rafting) and lunch in the local restaurant
17:30 Departure from Šćepan Polje to Kotor with pauses for taking photos of Piva river, Piva lake, lake Slano and Bay of Kotor on the way back

20:00 Arrival in Kotor
